Public Health Infrastructure
The ultimate objective of a Civil Engineer designing a Public Health Infrastructure is to provide clean drinking water and treat wastewater. Engineers might be involved in implementing sustainable water drainage systems, creating energy-efficient treatment plants or improving infrastructure to prevent urban flooding. Capturing, treating and distributing water, and planning, developing and managing our water resources are central to society’s needs. Civil engineers perform a key role in the delivery and management of water.
